I try to shy away from the OVER USED term of “Bug out Bag”, or now “Get Home Bag”. These are popularized terms which put falsities into preppers’ minds which give them the idea that leaving their home during a disaster is a priority.
In reality, your home should be your survival have unless it is overrun, but a MAJOR disaster (i.e. Hurricane Katrina). In this case an Emergency Response Bag (ERB), is a short term, lightweight, heavy duty, pack to aid in getting out of the dangerous, effected area ASAP. A heavy, longer-term pack, will slow you down and maybe cost lives.
